El Pat Belliveau Cuarteto graniza de Calgary, Canadá y es dirigido por Pat Belliveau (saxaphone) apoyado por Derek Stoll (piano), John Hyde (bajo) y John deWaal (baterías). The Pat Belliveau Quartet hails from Calgary, Canada and is led by Pat Belliveau (saxaphone) backed by Derek Stoll (piano), John Hyde (bass) and John deWaal (drums). The Quartet will be joined by Canadian artist, Jon Day (trumpet) now living in the U.K. - one of last year’s headliners and long time friend of the Pat Belliveau Quartet.

PAT BELLIVEAU: Pat has toured throughout North America, Europe, and Japan and played concerts with many international stars of jazz including Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker, Harry Connick Jr., Bobby Shew, Clark Terry, Pat LaBarbera, Phil Woods, Mike Tomaro, Steve Slagle, Jeff Jarvis, Kenny Wheeler, Doc Severinsen, Allan Vizzutti, Dave Koz, Lenny Pickett, Guido Basso, Rob McConnell, Marvin “Smitty” Smith, Don Braden, Phil Nimmons, David Foster, Hal Linden, Johnny Mathis, Ben Vereen, Neil Sedaka, Petula Clark, Shirley Jones, The 5th Dimension, Al Jarreau, The Temptations, The Neville Brothers, and Clarence Clemons and the “Temple of Soul” to name only a few. His performance credits include playing for former U.S. President Bill Clinton and the Queen of Norway. Pat is an Artist/Clinician for “Yamaha Canada Music Ltd.” and endorses the “82Z” design saxophone. He recently released a CD entitled “La Zona Blanca” which featured Los Angeles trumpeter Bobby Shew, Chicago drummer Paul Wertico (7 time “Grammy Award” winner with the Pat Metheny Group from 1983-2001), and “Juno Award” winning Toronto saxophonist Kirk MacDonald as special guests. SPECIAL GUEST - JON DAY:  Jon has extensive performing, arranging and composing credits and has shared the stage with greats like Alex Acuna, Howard McCrary, Linda McCrary, Hugh Fraser, Ross Taggart, Don Thompson, Brad Turner, Jamey Aebersold, Kevin Dean, Renee Lee, Andre White, Joe Sullivan, Remi Bolduc, Dave Laing, Pat Belliveau, Greg Bush, Sandro Dominelli, Chris Williams and Tim Tamishiro. Noted for his versatility, he has also performed with blues/rock legends Jack Semple, Doug Riley, Clarence Clemons and the “Temple of Soul”, among others. Jon has performed at several international jazz festivals, including headlining at the 2010 Boquete Jazz Festival. Jon is an accomplished composer having authored songs for several artists, including the song “La Cubana” recorded by Allistair Elliott - winner of the 2008 Canadian Smooth Jazz Award for Wind Instrumentalist of the Year - on his album, “Urban Nights”. Jon has also composed and arranged original orchestral works for numerous full-scale live musical theatre productions including “The Grinch” and “It’s a Wonderful Life”.  JOHN DEWALL: John has played with an impressive roster of international jazz stars including Rosemary Clooney, David Friesen, Sheila Jordan, Rob McConnell, Marian McPartland, Maria Schneider, Bobby Shew, Phil Woods and Bill Watrous, among others. He has performed at several international jazz festivals like the Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland) and Montreal Jazz Festival (Canada). Since 1979, he has owned and operated de WAAL Music Studio.  JOHN HYDE: John Hyde has been a freelance bassist since 1972. Formerly Artistic Director of the Jazz Studies Program at Mount Royal College, and past President of the Calgary Musicians’ association, he has numerous recording, arranging and producing credits with Amos Garrett, Sheri-D Wilson, The Tanya Kalmanovitch Trio, Senator Tommy Banks, Karl Roth, Tim Tamashiro, Jann Arden and many others. John has performed with many great artists including Lee Konitz, Bob Mintzer, Don W. Thompson, Marion McPartland, Bill Watrous, Hugh Fraser, Eddie “lockjaw” Davis and Oliver Jones among notable others. He has experience as a record producer and mixing engineer.  DEREK STOLL: Derek Stoll is an accomplished jazz pianist who has performed throughout Canada, the US and Japan with several concert band, jazz band, small ensembles and solo instruments. He obtained a Bachelor of Music in Composition and has taught music in the Canadian school system as well as serving as the Director of Musicamrose (Alberta Summer Music Workshop Association) from 1989 to 1995. He has recently lectured at Boston University, and is a consultant for Conservatory Canada’s new Contemporary idioms syllabus. He teaches jazz piano at Mount Royal College in Calgary and is currently active as a clinician, adjudicator, and composer. He is a Board Member of the Calgary Arts Summer School, Calgary Musicians Association and co-founder of Alberta Musician Development Workshops.
